Dear SirI have been doing freelance translation interpretation and registered on the Home Office as an Arabic/ English interpreter. My duties as a chief translator and interpreter of news items and administrative organisation and delegations of work to a team of translators in the News Department and liaising with other departments in Syrian Television& Radio. I held overall management responsibilities for the translation team in the News Department; I am used to working to strict deadlines and working as part of a team. Apart from my administrative role, my job involved listening to the views of those in the team, and responding accordingly in order to create an atmosphere of harmony in an often-stressful environment. I was also responsible for devising new administrative system to meet changing needs. My experience as a translator / interpreter includes work for television, government, newspapers, legal, commercial and literary fields, as well as subtitling films and televisions programmes. Over the past 25 years I worked in Dubai, Kuwait and Syria, and I worked in the past 8 years in U.K on a freelance basis for a variety of companies and agencies such as Trans World, Lexicon Linguistics, Tyndallwoods Solicitors, also I have followed a two months course in the medical terminologies, and I worked as an interpreter for different surgeries and hospitals and I’m a qualified registered interpreter at the Home Office Interpreting Unit. I am able to translate or interpret for speakers from most of the Arabic countries. I have Master of Arts in Bilingual Translation- English/ Arabic Westminster University. I am British citizen. However, I am very flexible at work; I am able to carry out interpreting/ translating work at any time of the week.
